Synopsis
The Dawnhounds, published by Sascha Stronach in 2022, opens the Endsong duology in the biotech-infused port city of Hainak. Yat Jyn-Hok is a disgraced police officer who stumbles onto a corpse she was never meant to find, and is murdered by fellow officers determined to keep her discovery quiet. An ancient, mysterious power intervenes and resurrects her, granting Yat the unsettling ability to manipulate life force itself, a gift she barely understands and cannot easily control. Now hunted by the very authorities she once served, Yat finds refuge among a pirate crew operating outside the reach of Hainak's police, even as a deadly plague begins spreading through the city's streets, forcing her to confront the corruption running through Hainak's institutions from the very top down.
