Synopsis

Jim Eckert, a modern-day graduate student in medieval history, is accidentally projected into a fantastical parallel world during a laboratory experiment in astral projection meant to send his girlfriend Angie there instead. He wakes to find his consciousness trapped in the body of a wounded dragon named Gorbash, discovering that this alternate reality runs on the logic of chivalric romance, complete with knights, wizards, and monsters drawn from medieval legend. Forced to navigate a society of actual dragons while still thinking like a twentieth-century academic, Jim must locate Angie, who has also been pulled into this world, and find a way for both of them to get home, all while contending with a dragon community that expects him to act, and fight, like one of their own.
