Synopsis
The Golden Horn continues the story of Alf, the half-elven monk introduced in The Isle of Glass, following him into the tumult of the Fourth Crusade as it converges on Constantinople. Drawn into the political and military upheaval surrounding the siege of the Byzantine capital, Alf becomes entangled with characters whose feelings for one another remain unspoken and unresolved even as the world around them moves toward war. Set against the historical backdrop of the crusade's advance on the city, the novel follows Alf navigating both the external dangers of the siege and the more private tensions among those closest to him, continuing the trilogy's blend of historical crusading-era conflict with the hidden truth of his elven identity.
