Synopsis

As a child, Prince Dair is a shape-shifter born a changeling, able to take the form of a wolf. In a vision he sees that he will one day travel far from his homeland to the mainland, carrying his magic with him. He also sees a golden swan and a stranger named Frain, who is magically bonded to him so that Frain feels everything Dair feels. Frain lives under a dark curse and is burdened by a lost love. The bond between the two is strong enough to decide the fate of a troubled land. The novel is the final volume of the series and follows The Black Beast.
