Overview
The Book of the Isle is a five-volume heroic fantasy sequence by Nancy Springer, published by Pocket Books between 1979 and 1983. It is set on Isle, an island of gods, ghosts and ancient beings, in a land that resembles pre-Roman Britain, and draws on Arthurian and Celtic legend. The White Hart follows Cuin, Ellid and Bevan, the son of a High King and a moon goddess, against the ancient evil Pel. Later volumes follow other heroes: Hal and Alan in The Silver Sun, Prince Trevyn in The Sable Moon, Prince Tirell and his brother Frain in The Black Beast, and Prince Dair in The Golden Swan. Open Road Media reissued the books as ebooks in 2014 and as a complete omnibus in 2018.
