Synopsis
Concluding the Genesis of Shannara trilogy and continuing directly from The Elves of Cintra, this novel is set around the year 2100 during the height of the Great Wars, bridging Terry Brooks's Word and Void and Shannara series. A demon army under the commander Findo Gask threatens the Elven city of Arborlon and its guardian tree, the Ellcrys, forcing the Elven siblings Kirisin and Simralin to attempt to use the magical Loden Elfstone to transport the entire city to safety. Logan Tom, who has fallen for Simralin, and the wounded Angel Perez join the effort to protect the Elves, while Hawk leads the human refugees known as the Ghosts, including Tessa, Panther, and Candle, in a parallel struggle to escape the advancing demonic forces and the shape-shifting demon called the Klee, as the survivors converge in search of sanctuary.
