Synopsis
The Hedge Knight is a novella by George R. R. Martin set eighty-nine years before the events of A Game of Thrones, featuring none of the main series' characters. It follows Ser Duncan the Tall, a lowborn hedge knight known as "Dunk," and his young squire "Egg" (secretly a Targaryen prince) as they travel through Westeros and become entangled in a tournament.
