Synopsis
The House of Sacrifice concludes the Empires of Dust trilogy, following the violent aftermath of Marith Altrersyr's rise to kingship depicted in The Tower of Living and Dying. As the consequences of Marith's reign and the earlier fall of the Sekemleth Empire continue to unfold, the trilogy's surviving major characters are pushed toward a final reckoning with the empire, the throne and the personal costs of the bloodshed that brought them there. The novel maintains the grimdark tone and shifting points of view established across the earlier two books as it closes out the trilogy's central arc around power, violence and the human cost of empire.
