Synopsis
Jane is a human changeling, a child coming of age in a world of violence and monsters, who toils alongside trolls, dwarves, shifters and feys in the dank bowels of a factory in Faerie that builds the massive black iron dragons, sentient flying engines of war. Stolen into a realm of malls and machines and enslaved there, she discovers the secret of the dragons' sentience when a voice from one of them promises her freedom and revenge, and she uses the beast to escape and to challenge the very foundations of her world.
