Synopsis

In The Ironwood Tree, Mallory vanishes without explanation during a fencing tournament, leaving her brothers to discover that she has been placed under an enchanted sleep by a group of dwarves working on behalf of the series' recurring villain, the shapeshifting ogre Mulgarath. As Jared and Simon work to figure out how to wake their sister and secure her safe return, their investigation uncovers further pieces of Mulgarath's broader scheme, revealing that Mallory's abduction is only one part of a larger plan whose full scope the brothers have not yet grasped. The novel deepens the family's understanding of just how far Mulgarath's ambitions, and his reach into the faerie world around their estate, actually extend.
