Synopsis
The Key concludes the Engelsfors Trilogy in the aftermath of a violent confrontation at the town's gymnasium, as the surviving Chosen Ones try to process significant losses while confronting the possibility of an apocalypse. Ida finds herself caught in a liminal space between life and death alongside another girl, Matilda, while Viktor turns to Minoo for help in saving his sister Clara from a supernatural threat. Meanwhile, Walter, who leads the magical council's Swedish division, comes to see Minoo as a useful pawn in larger schemes he is orchestrating. With no choice but to set aside their personal conflicts, the remaining girls must rally together to try to avert catastrophe, even as the interpersonal tensions among them threaten to pull the group apart at the worst possible moment.
