Synopsis
The gods are dying. A new god, the All-Holy, is marching east from the west, consuming local deities, forcibly converting their followers and binding their souls to himself. Marakand, the great city where the eastern and western trade roads meet, struggles to resist him. Its allies include the devils Moth and Yeh-Lin and the undead assassin Ahjvar. They face formidable opposition in Blackdog, a shapeshifter who was once a champion of the gods and now serves the All-Holy, and in Lakkariss, a sword from the cold hells that the All-Holy holds himself. The world's best hope may lie with its most feared enemies.
