Synopsis
With her investigative career on hold, Kembral Thorne is taking maternity leave when a request from her best friend pulls her back into danger: a reading of a mysterious will at an isolated mansion, where eight potential heirs, including several of Kem's own childhood friends and her girlfriend, the cat burglar Rika Nonesuch, discover they have been drawn into a deadly game rather than a straightforward inheritance. One by one, the heirs are meant to die, with the sole survivor promised an extraordinary prize: a wish capable of reshaping reality itself. As Kem and Rika race to protect their friends and unravel the cursed relics and alternate realities hidden within the mansion's walls, they find that leaving the game, and the house, intact may be harder than simply surviving it.
