Synopsis

The Lost Plot, the fourth book in the Invisible Library series, sends Librarians Irene and Kai into a 1930s Chicago rendered in period detail, complete with gangsters, speakeasies and Prohibition-era intrigue. There they find themselves drawn into a dangerous dispute between two dragons vying for power, a rivalry centered on the fate of a young librarian caught between the two factions. To prevent the disagreement from escalating into a wider war among the Library's dragon allies, Irene and Kai must race to secure a rare book before their rivals do, all while navigating blackmail, elaborate security and the ever-present threat that failure could cost Irene both her position and her life. The mission blends the series' established mix of literary intrigue and fast-paced adventure with the trappings of Chicago's underworld.
