Synopsis

The Magician's Land, published by Lev Grossman in 2014, concludes the Magicians Trilogy. Quentin Coldwater has been exiled from Fillory, the magical kingdom he once ruled, and returns to Brakebills College stripped of his former status, forced to take on risky, disreputable work just to get by. While Quentin scrapes together a living and is drawn into a mysterious heist involving an artifact tied to unfinished business from his past, Fillory itself faces a growing crisis back home: the magical barriers protecting the realm are failing, barbarian forces threaten its borders, and its rulers Eliot and Janet must undertake a desperate effort to save the kingdom before it is too late. The novel follows both threads as Quentin's personal reckoning and Fillory's survival increasingly appear to be bound together.
