Synopsis
Russell Crannaker is a Halloween-loving boy who is tired of being picked on by a bully. In a strange little shop run by Mr. Elives he buys a ring that is said to work real magic. Russell does not believe it, until he follows the instructions and twists it. He sprouts horns and hair and becomes a monster. One twist makes a monster, two make a more dangerous one, and a twist the other way, with the right words, turns him back. Russell enjoys his new power at first. Then he misuses the ring on the night of a full moon, and something frightening is loose in the town of Kennituck Falls.
