Synopsis
This fantasy sequel reunites protagonists Colin and Susan with the magical world they encountered in the previous novel, again centered on Alderley Edge and the wizard Cadellin Silverbrow's ongoing struggle against ancient evil forces. When Susan's enchanted bracelet, a gift from the elf-earl Albanac, is borrowed by a group of elves and she subsequently becomes possessed by the ancient and dangerous spirit of Morrigan, Colin must seek out older, wilder magic than Cadellin's own to have any hope of freeing his sister. His search draws in figures from British and Celtic myth largely absent from the first book, including the Wild Hunt, as Colin races to undo what the bracelet's borrowing has unleashed before Morrigan's hold over Susan becomes permanent.
