Synopsis
The Nature of Middle-earth is a 2021 collection of previously unpublished essays and fragments by J.R.R. Tolkien, compiled and edited by scholar Carl F. Hostetter. It gathers late writings on the workings of Middle-earth, covering topics such as time, aging, and the nature of Elves and Men, rather than presenting a single narrative.
