Synopsis
Opening the Heritage of Shannara tetralogy roughly three centuries after the original trilogy, the story begins in the city of Varfleet, where Par Ohmsford and his brother Coll perform illusions using Par's wishsong magic, an activity outlawed under Federation rule. After narrowly escaping arrest by the Federation official Rimmer Dall, they travel to meet their friend Morgan Leah. Par, his cousin Wren Elessedil, and Walker Boh are then summoned by Cogline, an elderly former Druid, to the Valley of Shale, where the shade of Allanon assigns each of them a seemingly impossible task: Par must recover the lost Sword of Shannara, Walker must restore the vanished Druid order and their fortress of Paranor, and Wren must locate the Elves, missing for generations.
