Synopsis
Elspeth Gordie has learned that the time has come to undertake the final leg of her quest, and she knows it will take her far from Obernewtyn, perhaps never to return. The journey to destroy the Beforetime weaponmachines carries her and her companions out of the Land, across the Blacklands and over the sea toward the lands of the Red Queen, where the trail left by the seer Kasanda leads, while the Herder Faction and Ariel race toward the same goal. Originally announced as the series' final volume, The Sending grew into the penultimate book, and was published in North America in two parts, The Sending and The Waking Dragon. Its events are told in Elspeth's first-person voice, as is the whole series.
