Synopsis
Nick Verrou is seventeen and runs his father's motel and store at Sauterelle Lake in the Cascade Mountains, a lonely job in a quiet place. One summer a strange family takes Cabin 5. Willow can make herself vanish, and her brother Evan is a wolf who talks. Nick comes to see that he has the same kind of gifts, which he never understood, and that the family has its own rules and troubles. He has to decide what to do with his abilities and whether to join people who are like him. The book is set in the same world as the first novel but is not a sequel to it.
