Synopsis

The Silicon Mage follows computer programmer Joanna Sheraton as she ventures back across the Void separating her world from Antryg Windrose's, determined to rescue the wizard after he is captured and imprisoned following the events of the first novel. Beyond freeing Antryg, Joanna must also help stop an evil sorcerer whose scheme involves transferring his own consciousness into a powerful computer system, one that is already steadily draining Earth of its life force to fuel its operation. Racing against the sorcerer's plan, Joanna and her allies must navigate both the practical dangers of Antryg's imprisonment and the growing technological threat that has begun to affect Earth itself.

Notes

  • From the series record (Windrose Chronicles): Complete Del Rey/Ballantine portal-fantasy quartet (1986-1994) following computer programmer Joanna Sheraton and wizard Antryg Windrose between our world and the magic-vs-technology setting of the Empire of Ferryth (Stranger at the Wedding is a same-universe standalone following a peripheral character). Confirmed a separate, unrelated universe from this author's already-admitted Darwath and Sun Wolf/Winterlands series.
