Synopsis
The fourth and concluding novel of the Silver Wyrm act finds the Horsekin massing along Prince Dar's northern border in overwhelming numbers, leaving the Deverry alliance too weak on its own to hold the contested wilderness known as the Ghostlands. The tide begins to shift only when unexpected allies, the reclusive Dwrgi folk, together with the dragons Arzosah and Rori, arrive to reinforce Dar's forces and offer the alliance a real chance to finally turn back the Horsekin threat that has driven the last three novels. Neb and Branna, the reincarnated souls of Nevyn and Jill, continue to grow into the fullness of their inherited dweomer powers as the long-building war against the Horsekin approaches its decisive confrontation, drawing together threads of reincarnation, prophecy, and alliance that the Silver Wyrm act has developed across its earlier volumes.
