Synopsis
The third novel of the Silver Wyrm act moves the action into the wild Northlands, where secrets accumulate around the mysterious floating island of Haen Marn, the scattered dwarven settlements, and the fortified city of Cerr Cawnen, all of which stand exposed to Horsekin conquest. Only the dweomer worked by Dallandra and Valandario, aided by the dragons Arzosah and Rori, offers any real hope of protecting these allied communities as the Horsekin threat presses closer. The reincarnated lovers Neb and Branna continue coming into their own magical inheritance even as the wider alliance struggles to hold its ground, and the fate of Haen Marn's secrets becomes tied to whether the loosely joined Northland settlements can withstand a coordinated Horsekin advance before it overwhelms them piecemeal.
