Synopsis

The second novel of the Silver Wyrm act centers on the elven Prince Dar, who regards the Horsekin fortress of Zakh Gral as a dagger laid against the throat of his people and moves to assemble a broad alliance of elves, dwarves, humans, and two dragons to face the mounting threat. Opposing him are the fanatical Horsekin, who believe that their goddess Alshandra has personally ordained the destruction of Dar's people and see the coming conflict as a holy mission rather than mere conquest. As Dar works to unite his disparate allies despite old rivalries and mutual suspicion, the reincarnated figures of Nevyn and Jill, now the young lovers Neb and Branna, find their own awakening abilities entangled with the wider war effort, and the fortress at Zakh Gral becomes the focal point around which both sides begin to marshal their strength for a coming confrontation.
