Synopsis

Set two centuries after a devastating war, The Simoqin Prophecies opens as an ancient set of prophecies begins converging toward fulfillment: seers had long ago foretold both the eventual return of the fearsome rakshas Danh-Gem and the rise of a hero destined to oppose him. The story begins with Prince Asvin of Avranti facing execution in the forest under a secret law aimed at overly ambitious younger princes, only to be rescued by the men of the mysterious Silver Dagger, an event that marks him as the prophecy's likely hero and sends him on a series of quests to prove himself and gather renown.

Notes

  • From the series record (GameWorld Trilogy): Complete three-book trilogy by Samit Basu, published by Penguin India (2004-2007); a satirical high-fantasy saga drawing on Indian and world mythology and genre tropes. Written in English from the start; not a translation.
