Synopsis
Big Magic, which had been in serious decline in the Ununited Kingdom, has returned, and the despotic King Snodd IV hopes to cash in by putting the wizards of Kazam Mystical Arts Management under his control: he proposes that they merge with iMagic, the rival house led by the Amazing Blix, newly appointed Court Mystician. Sixteen-year-old Jennifer Strange, the foundling running Kazam since the Great Zambini's disappearance, is resolute, and when the king orders a contest between the two houses, with the losers to be forcibly merged, she and her mostly lovable cast of misfits must rely more on wits than on wands to preserve their independence, while a mysterious party searches for a lost magic ring and another Quarkbeast is on the loose. The second book of the series.
