The Soulforge explores the formative years of Raistlin Majere, tracing his progress through magic school and the early experiences that shaped his bitter, power-driven personality. The story culminates with Raistlin undertaking a crucial magical Test at the Tower of High Sorcery of Wayreth, a pivotal trial that explains how he acquired his distinctive golden skin and hourglass-shaped eyes.
