Synopsis
A novella exploring the history of the Indigo Cloud Court, long before Moon was born and set generations before The Cloud Roads. In the distant past, the queen Indigo stole her consort, Cloud, from the Emerald Twilight court; in doing so, she and the reigning queen, Cerise, are left poised for a conflict that could spark war throughout all the courts of the Reaches, the story of the Raksura after whom the court is now named. It was first published in 2014 in Stories of the Raksura, Volume One, alongside the novella The Falling World and the short stories The Forest Boy and Adaptation.
