Synopsis

Merofynia, Rolencia’s ancestral enemy, has invaded and is marching on King Rolen’s castle. Thirteen-year-old Piro watches, powerless, as a traitor whispers poison in the king’s ear about his second son. How could the king doubt Byren? Determined to prove his loyalty, Byren races across the path of the advancing army to ask the Abbot to send the warrior monks to defend the castle, while the royal family’s enemies close in and the children of King Rolen face the loss of everything they have known. The second book of the saga sees Rolencia overrun.
