Overview

Rowena Cory Daniells’s epic fantasy (2010 to 2013) tells the story of a winter-bound kingdom, Rolencia, split apart when King Rolen’s enemies seize his throne. It follows three of his children: Byren, the king’s second son, who must challenge his elder brother and later fight to reclaim the crown; Fyn, the disinherited child with magic in his blood, who must become a leader; and Piro, the only princess and a secret magic-worker, around whom the fate of the world may turn.
