Synopsis
The twins of legend have been split apart. Josh has chosen to side neither with his sister Sophie nor with Nicholas Flamel, but to fight alongside Dr John Dee and the mysterious Virginia Dare, while in San Francisco Sophie is taken to Tsagaglalal, She Who Watches, an ancient guardian bound up with her own family. On Alcatraz, the immortals Niccolò Machiavelli and Billy the Kid are carrying out the Elders’ plan to release the monsters held in the island’s cells on San Francisco and trigger the end of the human race, and meanwhile Scathach and her companions find themselves on Danu Talis, the island of the Elders, ten thousand years in the past.
