Synopsis
In sixth-century Britain, Branwen serves the willful young Irish princess Esseilte, who is also her cousin and the illegitimate daughter of the Morholt. When the Morholt is killed by an unknown knight, a badly wounded harpist washes ashore and Esseilte nurses him back to health. He is Drustan, the man who killed her uncle. He later returns to ask for her hand on behalf of his uncle, King Marc'h of Kernow, and Esseilte sails with him intending revenge. A mistaken drink binds the two together instead, and Branwen is drawn into the deception that follows. Her own mystical gifts and a bond with the king awaken as the old Druid faith struggles to survive.
