Synopsis
In Elfland, the warrior Denoriel Silverhair is shown through a crystal lens a human baby, a red-haired girl who is destined to rule England. The FarSeer says her reign will shape a brighter future; the lens also shows a darker alternative in which the Inquisition takes hold. The FarSeer tells Denoriel that he must protect the child, but Denoriel protests that he is a warrior, not a nursemaid.
