Synopsis
Estranged siblings Bellatine and Isaac are unexpectedly reunited after they jointly inherit Thistlefoot, a sentient house that walks on giant chicken legs and has journeyed from their family's ancestral home outside Kyiv to reach them. Neither sibling has much reason to trust the other after years apart, but the strange, animate inheritance forces them into each other's company as they figure out what to do with a house unlike any they could have imagined owning. Deciding to take Thistlefoot on a cross-country tour rather than settle it in one place, Bellatine and Isaac find themselves pursued along the way by a sinister, persistent figure known as the Longshadow Man, whose interest in the house and its history proves far from benign.
