Synopsis

Tidal Creatures is the third novel in the Alchemical Journeys series, following Middlegame and Seasonal Fears. It follows Judy, whose body is shared with the moon goddess Chang'e, and Kelpie, a young woman who escapes an alchemist's laboratory with no memory of her past. Across the world, moon deities have taken human form and must cross the sky above the Impossible City to keep it tethered to reality. There are enough of these lunar incarnations that a few disappearances go unnoticed at first, but they are not limitless, and someone has begun killing them one by one. As Judy and Kelpie's paths converge, they are drawn into an investigation of the killings that threatens to expose a larger scheme for control of the Impossible City itself.
