Synopsis
Pars, a rich kingdom on the Silk Road, goes to war with the invading army of Lusitania. Fourteen-year-old Crown Prince Arslan fights his first battle at Atropatene, but a betrayal and the tactics of a silver-masked Lusitanian commander turn it into a rout, and King Andragoras III is taken. Arslan escapes with the loyal warrior Daryun. Soon the capital, Ecbatana, is besieged and burns. On the run, Arslan gathers his first companions, among them the strategist Narsus, the young archer Elam and the wandering musician Gieve. With almost no army, he must find a way to take back his throne from a foreign power that believes it fights for its god.
