Synopsis
Jame, a young Highborn woman of the Kencyrath, has been formally declared heir to her brother Torisen, the Highlord of their people, and as his heir she must now attend Tentir, the demanding military academy that trains the Kencyrath's officer corps. Her arrival disrupts the institution, since she carries the weight of an old prophecy that marks her as one of three saviors destined to battle Perimal Darkling, an ancient world-devouring evil that has pursued the Kencyrath across worlds. At the academy she faces open hostility as an outsider, marked by her unveiled face and her unusual Shanir nature, even as enemies of her family and the weight of centuries of tradition array themselves against her.
