Synopsis

Treason's Shore, the concluding novel of the quartet, opens with the Venn, the seafaring enemy that had previously withdrawn, mounting a renewed invasion by sea, this time on a scale larger than any naval campaign the kingdom has faced before. Inda, now serving as King Evred's Royal Shield Arm, is tasked with defending a strategically vital strait against this onslaught, a mission complicated by tangled politics among the kingdom's allies, some of whom are also fighting the Venn but resist ceding control of the strait to Inda's command. Torn between his personal loyalty to Evred, who has ordered him to seize control of the strait even from allied forces, and the practical difficulties of coordinating a fractured defense, Inda has to hold together a coalition under strain while the largest naval threat in the kingdom's history bears down on them.
