Synopsis
More than two hundred years after Modru was defeated in the Winter War, the Dwarves of Durek's people want to take back their ancient underground stronghold of Kraggen-Cor. It is now overrun with monsters, and no living Dwarf remembers its tunnels or has a map. Two Warrows, Perry and Cotton, have studied the accounts of the Winter War and memorized details of the passages, so the Dwarves recruit them as guides. A few human allies join the expedition. The book follows the long march toward the gates of the fortress.
