Christa Lind of the Ice People has been chosen to give birth to the family's very special child, the one who in time will take up the struggle against Tengel the Evil, the ancestor who sold his soul to the devil. Christa's stepfather wants her to marry the Christian widower Abel, but he is twice her age and has seven sons, and her thoughts turn instead to the poor crofter's son Lindelo, over whom hangs a strange air of mystery. A volume of The Legend of the Ice People, the saga of Tengel's descendants and their struggle between good and evil.

Notes

  • From the series record (The Legend of the Ice People): The original 47-volume saga (1982-1989) following the cursed Ice People clan across generations of Scandinavian history, marked by inherited supernatural gifts, a medallion-bound curse, and (in its later volumes) an underground kingdom where time itself runs differently. Two later continuations exist (a further ~35 volumes across two more parts, published years afterward) and are not yet catalogued here pending closer genre review.
