Synopsis
Two Twisted Crowns continues The Shepherd King duology directly after the events of One Dark Window, opening with Elspeth trapped within her own mind while the Nightmare, the spirit sharing her body, takes control and shows little willingness to relinquish it. Ravyn Yew, still bound to Elspeth by more than duty, must find a way to reach her even as he negotiates uneasily with the presence that has displaced her. With most of the twelve Providence Cards already gathered, the remaining obstacle is the final, most crucial card, the Twin Alders, and the only guide who might lead them to it is the Nightmare itself. The quest pushes Ravyn and Elspeth's companions beyond the mist-shrouded forest around their kingdom of Blunder, forcing them to confront old and new threats as the solstice presses closer and the fate of Blunder's infected hangs in the balance.
