Synopsis
Waterblack, published by Alex Pheby in 2025, concludes the Cities of the Weft trilogy after Mordew and Malarkoi. Continuing directly from the divergent paths taken by Clarissa, Dashini, Gam, Prissy, and Sirius at the end of Malarkoi, the novel brings the trilogy's scattered characters and storylines back toward a shared reckoning with the wider structure of the weft-woven world introduced across the first two books. As the surviving cast converge on Waterblack itself, the title city and setting for the trilogy's conclusion, the novel closes out the questions raised since Mordew about the true nature of the weft, the cities built from it, and the fate of the world Nathan Treeves once seemed destined to reshape.
