Synopsis

A young, gentle farmhand named Valdemar comes into possession of Wayfinder, a Sword that guides its wielder toward whatever he seeks. Valdemar wants a wife, but the Sword leads him to Lady Yambu, a former Silver Queen who is on her own journey and has no interest in settling down. Elsewhere, a sorcerer and his associate meet a leader at a wealthy stronghold, a veteran named Ben is captured by armed men, and a prince searches for the healing Sword Woundhealer to save an injured princess. Wayfinder tends to complicate every quest it touches.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
