Synopsis
We Free the Stars picks up in the aftermath of the battle that closed the first novel, following Zafira and Nasir as they continue their mission to restore magic to their kingdom despite being short on resources, allies, and certainty about how to proceed. Nasir struggles to control a dangerous magic now stirring in his blood, a consequence of events from the previous book, while Zafira must confront a darkness of her own that threatens to undermine the very abilities she has relied on throughout their journey. As the two press forward with what remains of their plan, an ancient evil tied to the source of the land's lost magic begins to stir once more, threatening to unravel everything they have fought to achieve.
