Synopsis
The concluding volume of the Mage Winds trilogy picks up with Elspeth, her magical training now complete, preparing to return to Valdemar as a Herald and a mage in her own right, accompanied by her Tayledras partner Darkwind. No longer the uncertain novice she was at the start of her journey, Elspeth must now put her hard-won abilities to the test against the magical threat posed by Ancar of Hardorn, whose dark sorcery continues to endanger Valdemar and its allies. As the trilogy moves toward its climax, the story turns on whether Elspeth and Darkwind, and the allies they have gathered along the way, possess enough combined power to defend their homeland against a menace that has been growing since the first book of the series.
