Synopsis

Wolfbane continues the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness series as Naiginn, the demon-possessed tokoroth behind the Skin Takers, sets his sights directly on Wolf, intending to consume his soul as part of his long campaign against Torak and Renn. With Wolf in mortal danger, Torak and Renn seek help from the Sea-eagle Clan, a seafaring people whose knowledge of the surrounding waters proves essential as the pursuit moves out onto open sea. Navigating treacherous currents and unfamiliar coastlines, the pair and their new allies work to track Naiginn's movements and stay ahead of his plans before he can act on his threat against Wolf. As old wounds from Naiginn's manipulation of Renn resurface during the chase, Torak and Renn draw on everything they have learned since their earliest days together to protect the companion who has been with them from the beginning.

Notes

  • From the series record (Chronicles of Ancient Darkness): A nine-novel middle-grade saga set six thousand years ago in prehistoric Europe, following the orphaned boy Torak and his wolf companion. The first six novels (2004-2009) tell one continuous story; a further three novels (2020-2022) continue the same characters and world. Ghost Hunter, the sixth novel, won the 2010 Guardian Children's Fiction Prize.
