Synopsis
Following an invasion of the city of Landfall by the Dynize, mercenary general Lady Flint mobilizes her forces to prevent ancient gods from returning to the world through a conquered nation's stolen magic. Meanwhile, spy Michel Bravis works to infiltrate the occupying Dynize administration to locate someone crucial to the war effort, while the Mad Lancers, led by Ben Styke, pursue their own mission deep into hostile territory to find and destroy a powerful magical artifact before it can be turned against Fatrasta. As the war spreads beyond a single city, all three must reckon with enemies whose resources and magic dwarf anything the young nation can muster on its own.
