Synopsis
This flintlock fantasy novel, first in the Gods of Blood and Powder trilogy, follows three protagonists in the frontier nation of Fatrasta as an insurrection threatens the stability of the city of Landfall. Michel Bravis is a spy working to root out the conspiracy from within. Ben Styke is a convicted war hero, recently freed after years of imprisonment, whose loyalties and skills are put to the test. Lady Vlora Flint is a mercenary general with a turbulent past tied to the region's present troubles, brought in to help restore order. As their paths converge, all three find their loyalties tested and their histories dredged up, while a mysterious, ancient threat begins to stir on the frontier beyond the reach of Fatrasta's fragile new government.
