Synopsis
Wren is an orphan raised at the Three Groves Orphanage. She learns that her best friend Tess is really Princess Teressa of Meldrith, who has been kept hidden from the vengeful King Andreus of Senna Lirwan. When Tess's parents call her home to the capital, Cantirmoor, she invites Wren to come along. Soon after they arrive, a Lirwani agent kidnaps Tess, and the court largely forgets Wren. Determined to help, Wren slips away to the Cantirmoor Magic School, where she meets the apprentice magician Tyron and joins his plan to rescue the princess. Their journey takes them through the Free Vale and Horth Falls, where they meet Connor Shaltar, and on toward the mountains that border Senna Lirwan, with dangers growing at every stage.
